Wow You are so gifted Ina!! So that's what you are thinking when you are on your own sipping coffee!! It's an uncharted territory- your imagination! I am glad someone still dreams in this hurried world in which the philistine daily grind is celebrated. Your art is a breath of fresh air...and it gives us permission to enter a childlike state of wonderment...it is a double pleasure because it tells us the story of Rose Red and Snow White on the one hand and on the other hand it is a piece of impressionistic artwork in itself. The bear and girl drawing invokes childhood memories..... and I am 6 years old again....sitting on a cold bedroom floor in winter time poring over a delicately illustrated story book recounting the fairytale with my twin sister....in awe at the miracle of the girls' vulnerability and apparent naivety....and filled with wonderment at the bear's transformation....totally captivated and absorped by the possibilities of magic and a secret hidden world -the product of an unbridled childhood imagination where anything is possible... please illustrate another!!! ~(such as The little matchgirl!!) from your friend and fan...carol :-)
Never happier than with my nose in a book and a milky cup of coffee at my side. Dreaming of great things to come and knitting my own world slowly out of strings of fairy tales and unhurried drawings.
Get comfortable and take a peek...
Imagine Jim Henson had never looked at his mother’s old blue coat and thought to himself: this would be ideal to make some lizard type puppet! (Kermit’s first incarnation)
We’d never had Sesame Street or Fraggle Rock or The Storyteller.
Wow
